Handmade joyful artworks
Hello and welcome! I am a full-time artist originally from Manchester with my current studio situated in the Midlands. I create handmade, joyful artworks both sculptural and functional using a range of mediums including watercolour, ceramic and fabric!
Structures and patterns found in the natural world are my constant source of inspiration, forming the foundations of my shapes and surface pattern designs! Colour brings life to my creations, with each vibrant colour combination carefully selected and intricately hand painted.
Each product is carefully packaged with an optional personalised gift message, using recyclable materials where possible!
Hand-thrown on the wheel, colourful vases made from stoneware clay hand-painted with vibrant glaze and fired twice to over 1000 degrees!
Made from 100% natural cotton the new sea spot tea towel will bring ocean hues to your kitchen!
Throwing on the wheel
Each symmetrical stoneware ceramic piece is hand-thrown on the wheel! Once it has dried a little, it is then flipped over and the bottom is trimmed and the profile is defined!
My Home Studio
This is my home studio. It is where I do all my hand building, glazing, recycling of the clay and drinking lots of tea.
DRYING, FIRING AND GLAZING
The clay goes through many stages. It is first sculpted and then left for 2 weeks to dry. It is then fired to over 1000 degrees and hand-painted with glaze. Once decorated it is then fired again for the final time!
